1/16/09 Weekend Movie Releases
The January 16th openings don’t look too good, at least from the outside looking in. This is officially the worst weekend of the year! Alright, so it is only a few weeks old, but still…
Hotel for Dogs (Family)
I’ve heard good things. I’ve heard, “Hey, it’s a great family film!” and “It’s the best family film in the past 10 years!” Is it? Is it really? It sure doesn’t look like it in the trailer. Oh well.
My Bloody Valentine 3-D (Horror)
I love the name despite what those at IMDB say. It’s what I believe is the first attempt at a horror flick being in 3-D. It sounds like a great idea, but will this film pull it off? Probably not.
Notorious (Music Drama)
Biggy biggy, B.I.G. was HUGE at the time of his death. Everyone who has ever listened to rap knows about him and knows what happened. I have no doubt that this movie will make its money back, but I just won’t say that it is a quality film.
Paul Blart: Mall Cop (Comedy)
A turd. Don’t watch and go refill on your popcorn if the trailer for this film comes on. No. Actually, if this trailer comes on during the film you are attempting to watch, just leave. Yes. Leave the theater, because no quality film would allow this trash to appear before it.
