11/7/08 Weekend Movie Releases
High School Musical 3 once again comes out on top this weekend. Saw V won Halloween (of course), but Zack and Miri Make a Porno and HSM3 went ahead of them with bigger Saturday’s and Sunday’s. I’m still feeling hurt knowing a film like High School Musical 3 can be number one in the box office.
This weekend features three comedy films. All look like “solid” films.
Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa (Animation)
The equal to Madagascar the original. Basically, the animals try to get back home. The penguins are there, so it should be good. The trailers look pretty good.
Role Models (Comedy)
Two men are sentenced to 150 hours community service. They enroll into the Big Brother program and of course, get two crazy kids to follow. This movie looks pretty funny.
Soul Men (Comedy)
Bernie Mac’s last film. Soul Men is about two former singers who get back together for one final tour, hoping to land a record deal. Samuel L. Jackson is Mac’s co-star. This film hasn’t received much publicity for whatever reason.
I wouldn’t mind seeing all three films. Of course, I probably won’t bother watching any in the theaters. They look solid, but not worth the price of admission.
