12/12/08 Weekend Movie Releases
Well it looks like The Day the Earth Stood Still captured the largest gross for last week. Keanu Reeves once again has a successful film. Yay, or nay. Not sure which side to be on. I’ve heard stories about him that go both ways.
This week there are three wide openings coming to theaters.
Seven Pounds (Drama)
Will Smith is planning to kill himself after his wifes death. He seeks out seven people to try to make their dreams come true. However, one of the people he attempts to help he falls for. Will Smith is likely to be nominated for an Oscar for best actor.
The Tale of Despereaux (Animation)
A tale of a mouse, a rat, and a big eared girl whose fates intertwine and become heroes.

Yes Man (Comedy)
Jim Carrey just can’t say ‘No’ to anything. So what does he do? He jumps on a Vespa with a cute girl. Ohhh scary and adventurous! Ok, not really. Anyway, the idea is good and it is based off a book. It looks like a fun movie, but nothing more.
