1/30/09 Weekend Movie Releases
Once again Paul Bart: Mall Cop reached number one. I’m not sure what it is about the movie that people like, but honestly, I think the trailers are horrible. A movie about a bumbling mall cop? Seriously? And people actually watch this without being forced to? Ugh. I bet the producers are just as surprised as I am.
Anyhow, a few more movies are out this weekend. I don’t think any look especially interesting, but if I had to guess, Taken will be the best out of the three with New in Town and The Uninvited fighting it out for second (out of the weekend. Probably Paul Blart will come in second or third).
New in Town (Romantic Comedy)
A woman is sent to Minnesota to try and get business more productive. Of course, she doesn’t know what she got herself into, but later falls in love with someone who both sings and acts!
Taken (Action)
Liam Neeson stars in this film about a daughter who gets kidnapped and forced into sex trade. Her father (Neeson) is a spy known as a protector who is ready to kick some serious butt on his way to get his daughter back. This movie was originally meant to be released last summer, but was pushed back for whatever reason.
The Uninvited (Horror)
A movie about a woman who was recently released from a mental hospital who thinks her new step-mother has a murderous past. Her father doesn’t believe her, but will everything work out before someone else is killed? Dun dun dun! Of course, there is a possibility that Miss Psycho is just psycho and none of it is true. I guess you will just have to watch to find out!
