2008 Oscar Awards Winners
The Academy Awards were held last night and there wasn’t really any surprises. Slumdog Millionaire won pretty much every music category, Best Direction, Best Editing, and Best Picture giving them a grand total of 8 wins.
Curious Case for Benjamin Button faired well by winning Best Makeup and Visual Effects.
Sean Penn won Best Actor for his role in Milk.
Kate Winslet won Best Actress for her role in The Reader.
And of course, everybodys favorite Heath Ledger won Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Dark Knight with Penelope Cruz winning for her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
The Oscars were almost a complete mirror of the BAFTAs (meaning the same not the same but opposite). No surprises.

I expected something better from DarkNight, I still think ‘Begins’ was better, I also think that it was blown out of proportion because of Heath Ledger’s death, as tragic as it was.

@JamesR I completely agree. When I saw the movie I thought it was more “meh” than anything else. Heath Ledger does a good job with the part, but I think it is more of a combination of him dying and him being able to actually pull off the part after being seen much of his acting career as a chick flick guy. I honestly prefer the Adam West and Tim Burton Batmans a lot more than The Dark Knight. Of course, maybe that is just because I was never a fan of the Dark Knight comic series to begin with.
