3/13/09 Weekend Movie Releases

Ah, the Watchmen. What a weekend. Although considered a ‘failure’ because it didn’t raise as much money during opening weekend as expected, it was still a huge hit (if that actually makes sense). This weekend a couple remakes come up to bat.

The Last House on the Left
A remake of the 1972 cult classic of the same name. What people didn’t know is the original was a modern remake of The Virgin Spring, a Swedish film placed in the 14th century which won Best Foreign Picture at the Oscars.

Race to Witch Mountain
This movie is also a remake. However, this film is based off one of a slightly different name, Escape to Witch Mountain. The Rock is the star, so it can go either way. It is a Disney live-action film, so be prepared.

What film will I see? The first. However, I’ll wait until the DVD is released so I can skip passed the hour long raping (if it is anything like the 1972 version).
