This past weekend Hannah Montana: The Movie broke the Easter weekend record with taking in $34 million. Ah, humanity. Where have we come to? Hannah Montana…. seriously? I understand your children want to see this film, but they can’t go see it unless you drive them. Meh… I guess you have been buying them the Hannah Montana shoes, backpacks, and clothing items for several years now, so why not, right?

Anyway, there are three movies opening in wide release this week. Surprisingly, all seem better than Hannah Montana.

17 Again
Mike O’Donnell’s life is falling apart, so he wishes he could go back to being 17 again. So of course, a man does it for him. This film seems like it can go either way (in terms of sickness or happiness). Does Mike fall for a high school girl? (he is still 37 even though he looks 17). Does his daughter fall for him? (ew). Or does he just try to look all cool and that is that?

17 Again quotes

State of Play
A Congressman’s mistress is killed and is being investigated not only by the police, but by a reporter as well. This reporter, played by Russell Crowe, is also the Congressman’s friend. The two work together to find who killed the mistress, but things may not turn out how you might expect.

State of Play quotes

Crank: High Voltage
Chev is kidnapped and has his heart stolen only to have it replaced with an electric heart which is running out of power. So Chev, played by Jason Statham, turns up the voltage and starts kicking some major butt in typical Statham style.

(no quotes because trailers are in bad quality, plus, they are mostly just him kicking butt anyway)

All in all, I wouldn’t mind watching State of Play or the new Crank film…. on DVD. Again, this crap isn’t worthing $9.
