7/11/08 Weekend Movie Openings

This weekend is full of potentially good movies. None will probably surprass last weeks Hancock opening, but all three are likely to pull in nice crowds.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army
From the director and writer of Hellboy and Pan’s Labyrinth, Guillermo del Toro. The first Hellboy was full of action, comedy, and complete badassery. This one only looks better.

Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D
Brendan Fraser’s latest movie leading up to the new Mummy movie set to be released August 1. Josh Hutcherson continues to get parts in movies despite haunting me at night. Maybe someday he will go through puberty and not be so scary.

Meet Dave
Eddie Murphy comes out with another movie where he plays more than one character. In this film he plays an alien and a human robot. Also, the beautiful Elizabeth Banks and lovely Gabrielle Union play large roles to hopefully make this movie a success.
