7/25/08 Weekend Movie Openings
After the huge opening of The Dark Knight, two new films are set to take center stage and both hold a very different tone than Batman.
Step Brothers
Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly star in a film about two middle-aged men who still live with one of their parents. After the two’s parents are married, they must share a room and eventually get a job. Will Ferrell is a comic genius (other than Semi-Pro). He helped write the Step Brothers’ screenplay, so you know this is going to be a great success (or a huge failure).

The X-Files: I Want to Believe
The X-Files returns once again for another thriller. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are back to star in another classic X-Files film. Like classic X-Files, the story has been largely kept under wraps, but what we do know is that Mulder will continue to look for the truth has he drags Scully into the mess.

So who will be tops this week? Will it be Will Ferrell’s newest comedy adventure or will it be Mulder and Scully’s alien/ghost/weird thing thriller?

I think The Dark Knight will actually still be on top after this weekend. I know here in GA at the Mall of GA IMAX theater the movie is sold out midway into next week and that there have been people driving from all over the state and even from out of the state driving to see the IMAX version here.
