9/5/08 Weekend Movie Releases
The Labor Day weekend seemed to fizzle out quicker than Babylon A.D. was considered a flop. This weekend doesn’t look much better. There’s only one movie opening in wide release for the weekend of September 5th, 2008. What movie is it? Bangkok Dangerous of course!
Bangkok Dangerous (Action / Crime)
Trailer:
Bangkok Dangerous is based off of a successful Thai film. The difference? In the Thai film the hitman was deaf-mute. In the American film the hitman’s girlfriend is mute. The change is said to have been made because Nicholas Cage has to have lines to be successful. Which is true to an extent. Even Castaway had to have Tom Hanks speak to Wilson. I’m a huge Nicholas Cage fan, but this film just seems meh. Of course, I say this and watch it be the top movie of the weekend.

Nick Cage seems to have a long hair cycle… he grows it out long just before he cuts it off about every fourth movie, i.e. ConAir, Next and now Bangkok Express
