It is funny how sometimes I hit the nail on the head and others I completely miss it. Beverly Hills Chihuahua is killing all other movies coming out the weekend of 10/3/08. I definitely didn’t see that coming. Out this weekend is a mixture of drama, thrills, and family adventure. Body of Lies (Drama / [...]
I finally got one right! Eagle Eye is #1 for the final weekend of September. Who would have known? I did! Anyway, enough gloating.
Who will be the best this weekend? Weill it be a comedy or thriller or a drama? I’ll go ahead and make a bold guess at How to Lose Friends and Alienate People. Do I want to watch it? No, but then I hardly ever want to watch the ‘big’ movie… until it comes on DVD, then I watch it.
Lakeview Terrace (the Samuel L. Jackson flick) did better than expected. The plot, at least to my understanding, was more about the interracial relationship than the trailers led on. Anyway, this week three wide release movies are opening, each in a separate genre, along with several limited releases, and Towelhead is expanding. Opening Wide Eagle [...]
There are four major openings this weekend with at least four others openings in limited locations and another expanding theaters (Towelhead). Ghost Town (Fantasy Comedy) Trailer: A man who is an ass goes into surgery and comes out seeing dead people. He must do what he can to help the dead. This movie looks funny [...]
This weekend, five potentially great movies release. Four films will be opening wide, while the fifth is releasing only in Los Angeles and New York City. Every movie looks like something I would want to see at some point, what about you? Burn After Reading – Comedy Trailer: A disk containing the memoirs of a [...]
Now that most students are back in school it is time to watch movies! Yes, movies about school. Why? Who knows. But what I do know is there are tons of great movies out there to please everyone. So lets get started, shall we? 10. 16 Candles A fifteen-year-old high schooler (Molly Ringwald) has a [...]
Hello again. Ramblings have once again struck for me so here they are to share again. Are you ready? Remakes, it’s sad but the majority of what we know from television, stories, and especially movies are just a repeated version of someone else’s idea from whenever ago. There isn’t a lot of originality left anymore, [...]
The Labor Day weekend seemed to fizzle out quicker than Babylon A.D. was considered a flop. This weekend doesn’t look much better. There’s only one movie opening in wide release for the weekend of September 5th, 2008. What movie is it? Bangkok Dangerous of course! Bangkok Dangerous (Action / Crime) Trailer: Bangkok Dangerous is based [...]
I don’t know about anyone else, but I was completely shocked about the lack of crowds headed to see The Rocker last Wednesday. What production company opens a movie on Wednesday without knowing full well that the film will be popular? Well, it looks like FOX does. Anyway, this week holds a brand new feel. [...]
Planet of the Apes is seen as one of the greatest films of all time. The original film stars Charlton Heston, Roddy McDowall, Kim Hunter, and Maurice Evans. The film was ground-breaking for its make-up techniques by artist John Chambers. The film turned into a series, including four sequals and a short lived television show, [...]
