Surprise, surprise. Knowing was the number one film out last weekend. Woopidoo da. Really, I like Nicholas Cage, I just wish he would have more variety. I liked “The Weatherman”. I liked the “Wickerman” (although, lots of people didn’t). But of course, the “National Treasure” movies were extremely popular, so he had to remake and call it Knowing. Alright, so it isn’t the same. But it is! It is he same character, at least.
This weeks’ movies hope to make a huge flash and push the Watchmen out of the top 3 and remove Race to Witch Mountain from the number one spot. Will they do it? Hm… Yes! I am making a bold prediction that I Love You, Man will take in the most cash this weekend.

Ah, the Watchmen. What a weekend. Although considered a ‘failure’ because it didn’t raise as much money during opening weekend as expected, it was still a huge hit (if that actually makes sense). This weekend a couple remakes come up to bat.
The Last House on the Left
A remake of the 1972 cult classic of the [...]
Last weekend I decided not to do the weekend movies as the only films worthy of mention weren’t needing quotes. The first is obvious, The Jonas Brothers Concert. Yeah, it is a movie for some reason and has done fairly well. The other film I decided to do this week, so keep your hat on!
Friday the 13th was huge last weekend. The film was created with just $19m and earned more than $40m over the three day weekend. Look for there to be further movies involving the slasher. I wonder if this will bring in a new age of slash and gore? Hmm…
Only two wide releases are opening up [...]
Another weekend another upset.Alright, maybe I’m the only one who calls it an upset, but He’s Just Not That Into You was first last weekend in gross. I guess a lot of females hit the movie theater in anticipation for Valentine’s day. I suspect this weekend to be just as chick flick filled with a [...]
Shockingly Paul Blart wasn’t number 1 this weekend, Taken was. The Uninvited debuted as the number 3 movie with New in Town coming in eighth.
For the first weekend of February we have four new major releases with a couple of them looking to be pretty decent.
Coraline (animation)
Directed by the guy who did Nightmare Before [...]
Once again Paul Bart: Mall Cop reached number one. I’m not sure what it is about the movie that people like, but honestly, I think the trailers are horrible. A movie about a bumbling mall cop? Seriously? And people actually watch this without being forced to? Ugh. I bet the producers are just as surprised [...]
Last week was a huge disappointment to the advancement of mankind. Mall Cop was the number 1 movie as of the January 16th weekend. It made close to $40 million. During what may very well be considered a depression in the coming years. $40 million! Holy jesus freak…
This week two movies open up in wide [...]
The January 16th openings don’t look too good, at least from the outside looking in. This is officially the worst weekend of the year! Alright, so it is only a few weeks old, but still…
Hotel for Dogs (Family)
I’ve heard good things. I’ve heard, “Hey, it’s a great family film!” and “It’s the best family film [...]
