Updates 2/21/12 – A long time coming

This post has taken me a long time to do as I’ve been pretty busy otherwise. Actually, things aren’t going too well financially. Frankly, they are down right horrible.

I’m doing everything I can to try to correct the issues, but we’ll see how that turns out. As of right now, nothing seems to be helping.

So here we go:
Changed meta descriptions of every page.
Added author contribution links to every page.
Changed the members section meta descriptions for every page.
Changed the links within each quotes page and their titles.
Put the categories all on the homepage.
Rewrote all the non-poet biographies and added quotes for them.
Fixed some HTML errors.

No new pages have really been added. I have simply been doing that. The website has around 2,000 static pages, so it takes a long time and a lot of work to get through.

I’m still not completely finished with it, but I’m about 99% of the way through.

I have some hunches as to what other things might be causing problems, but I’ll have to wait to make those changes as I don’t want to screw anything else up.

Traffic is now at around 20% of what it was 13 months ago.

The members section is about the same, but everywhere else isn’t. Love poems is completely messed up and so is funny quotes. Those entire sections lost a ton of traffic. And with the recent SERPs changes, some of movies is going down as well.
